Shaykh Abubakar Al Khalafi spent over twelve years studying at the Islamic University of Madinah.
Following a brief period at a university in London, he enrolled in Madinah's Arabic Institute before progressing to the Faculty of Sharia.
He chose this faculty specifically for its intellectually stimulating, evidence-based approach to legal differences. He successfully earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, with his postgraduate research specialising in Takhrij al-Furu' 'ala al-Usul, a science that retraces legal rulings back to their foundational principles.
Currently a PhD candidate, the Shaykh focuses his advanced research on the objectives of Islamic law (Maqasid al-Sharia).
He is a strong advocate for institutionalised learning, providing nuanced guidance on navigating differences of opinion while remaining firmly grounded in classical Islamic sciences.
He is currently working at AMAU Academy and provides structured learning to Islamic sciences.
